SPECIAL NEEDS COORDINATOR - Registered Nurse (BSN) or Social Worker (BSW)

Employ Northwest (previously Orient Staffing Solutions) is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse or Social Worker to fill the duties of Special Needs Coordinator for the For 35th Medical Group, Misawa AB, Japan. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse or a Social Worker with a Bachelor's degree who is already living in or currently relocating to Misawa, Japan with an unrestricted and current license from within U.S. jurisdiction, and one year of full time clinical experience.

Requirements:​

  • Education: Nurse applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. Social Worker applicants must at least possess a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the US Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

  • License: Nurse applicants, must have an active, valid, current and unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as a registered nurse in any US state/jurisdiction.

  • Experience. Minimum of one (1) year full time experience in clinical nursing or social work; or six months of special needs care coordination, discharge planning or case management in a medical setting in the past five (5) years.

  • Additional Knowledge. Be capable of performing the full range of medical services commensurate with the degree and/or professional license held. Fluently and proficiently read, write, speak and understand the English language. Possess working knowledge of computer applications and software to include Windows and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Professional Liability Insurance. Must carry professional liability insurance for your profession. OSS will negotiate coverage of this cost.

  • Immunizations: Before start of work, health care workers shall provide proof of immunization from the following diseases according to CDC guidelines: hepatitis B, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, TDap, and proof of a negative TB skin test completed within the past twelve (12) months (if positive, proof of negative chest X-ray within the past twelve (12) months), hepatitis A and poliovirus. After start of work, the Government will provide post blood borne exposure protocols according to applicable Air Force Instructions.
