OSS has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse or Social Worker to perform the duties of Special Needs Coordinator for the 18th MDG Clinic located on Kadena AFB - Okinawa, Japan. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse who is already living in or currently relocating to Okinawa, Japan with an unrestricted and current license from within U.S. jurisdiction, and two years of full time experience

Requirements:​

  • Education: The SNC Registered Nurse shall be a graduate of a baccalaureate degree program in nursing (BSN) accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.

  • License: Licensure/Certification. Must have an active, valid, current and unrestricted license (with no limitations, stipulations or pending adverse actions) to practice nursing as a registered nurse in any US state/jurisdiction.

  • Experience. SNC: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with full-time experience in specialized field of study and care coordination; as well as one (1) year of clinical services being performed in the last three (3) years.

  • Professional Liability Insurance. Must carry professional liability insurance for your profession. OSS will negotiate coverage of this cost.

  • Immunizations: Before start of work, health care workers shall provide proof of immunization from the following diseases according to CDC guidelines: hepatitis B, influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, TDap, and proof of a negative TB skin test completed within the past twelve (12) months (if positive, proof of negative chest X-ray within the past twelve (12) months), hepatitis A and poliovirus. After start of work, the Government will provide post blood borne exposure protocols according to applicable Air Force Instructions.
